The thing that makes this photograph powerful, is how its been taken in black and white and to me, it adds a more mysterious thing to it. Like there was something weird or creepy about that building. If it were to be taken in say "normally", which would be in its true colors, the building might perhaps look plain and dull. Now that I think of it, this photograph fits with the composition of viewpoint because of how the student took the picture from the bottom lookint up and the affect makes it look good and inspiring because you have to kind of take a second glance at it. By looking at the picture, it doesn't seem like the sun was really shining much, but I could be wrong and it may have been a factor in the picture as well.
