Your Story pt.2

This year’s summer vacation is a thrill for most Akins’ students and the feeling of it being just around the corner, sparks anxiousness among people. I personally think that everyone has been waiting for summer ever since it ended last year and there’s a wide variety of things to do, some involving academics and… PARTYING!! Summer can be about chillin’ with friends, but it can also be about seeing your family whether you like them or not. When asked if he planned on leaving Austin this summer, Nathaniel Buescher nodded and said, “Minnesota to see family.” On the other hand, when asked if he was going to spend his summer with friends or family, Aaron Cardenas laughed and responded, “Friends because I don’t like my family.” One thing is for sure, and that is that most students can’t wait anymore to hear that last bell to ring and mark the end of this school year. What exactly is it that makes people so anxious for summer? Well Angel Arana, a JROTC member recently commented that he’s “Ready because [he’s] tired of these hallways and this cafeteria food!” I definitely back that up because it seems like you’re trapped within this school at times and its just the same old boring classes and hallways. Against the cafeteria food, that is a reason why many would like to get out of school and just eat whatever they like at whatever time they’d like. In some cases, you see students getting themselves into trouble with the law, such as being crazy and doing illegal stuff such as drinking under age, drugs, and things in that range, but for being known as someone who fools around a lot, sophomore Angel Arana gets serious about the topic and straight up says,“ No, that’s stupid!!” while explaining that summer is about having fun, enjoying life, and go swimming! Speaking about swimming, water parks are going to be full of kids trying to have fun and a way to entertain themselves this summer. Nathaniel Buescher, Valedictorian for class of 2013 energetically responded, ” Yes Schlitterbahn!” when asked where he saw himself for most of his summer. Other than that, others might go to “Seaworld,” just as Aaron Cardenas stated as he thought where to go in terms of a theme park for the summer. When you think about summer and letting loose and just having fun, you think parties and that’s exactly where people will be instead of coming to school. Well it’s no fun going to parties by yourself, which is why Angel Arana said he was going to spend most of his summer with his brother and later said, “We’re gonna party!” Well, whether you summer includes family, theme parks, friends, parties, and the hot sun, everyone wants it “be live!,” just as freshman Aaron Cardenas would like his.
